Real Shops

So I've just uploaded a few track excerpts as a wee preview to the CD "Shops" which will be released on December 16th. You can hear them here. 

The Trio were commissioned by Gordon Maclean at An Tobar, The Tobermory Arts Centre on the Isle of Mull to write music for some of their local shops. Yes, I said shops. Gordon wanted to celebrate the fact that all the shops in Tobermory are still family-owned and locally run - a rare thing in these times. It was probably the strangest and most beautiful project we've ever done, particularly as part of the deal was doing a small concert in each of the shops we wrote music for.

And the CD will soon be available to buy. Excited? I don't blame you. You will be able to get it at www.davemilligan.co.uk from mid December (yup, still time to add it to your christmas shopping), or why not pop down to one of Tobermory's fine shops and buy a copy in person? (If you're passing...).

Here's a couple of dates we're doing to celebrate the release:

16th December: An Tobar, The Tobermory Arts Centre, Isle of Mull.

17th December: The Jazz Centre @ The Lot, Grassmarket, Edinburgh.

T'would be mighty to see you there.

Dave you want me to write on a trio blog. For fuck sake dave don't you think I have enough to do trying to raise a family and build a house and try and play the drums without writing on a ...(ring ring)... oh hi dave....oh you mean people can read this not just us three.... ah ha ..fans of the trio...(both of them  ..ha ha) .. oh I get it.....ah ha... so you don't want me to swear on the blog.......ok dave.... if that's what you want..er....ok..er....no no nothing..... ta ta. Welcome to the official blog of the Dave Milligan Trio. Here you can read news, random thoughts, and occasional nonsense from Dave, Tom L & Tom B (or at least from his alter ego Tommy Banana).

It is November 29th 2008 and I have to be honest with you here - I've never blogged before. In the few words I've already written I now realise it's not that difficult, but I just wanted you to know.
